Gunzilla Games is taking a bold step toward blending traditional gaming with blockchain technology. The company has invited 20,000 players from its battle royale shooter Off The Grid to join the GUNZ mainnet, a custom-built Layer-1 blockchain tailored for AAA games.
This move allows players to truly own their in-game items—such as weapons and cybernetic upgrades—by converting them into NFTs. These assets can be traded using the native GUN token, giving users full control over their digital possessions. Importantly, blockchain features are completely optional, ensuring that those who prefer classic gameplay can ignore NFTs altogether.
GUNZ is already integrated into Off The Grid and mobile title Technocore, with a focus on player-driven economies. Rather than selling NFTs, Gunzilla’s system rewards players through gameplay, allowing ownership to start with the individual—not the developer.
Now live in early access on PC and next-gen consoles, Off The Grid is helping shape the future of gaming—one where digital ownership, transparency, and choice are front and center.
