Intel’s 18A Tested by Nvidia, Broadcom

Nvidia and Broadcom are reportedly testing Intel’s 18A process node for potential use in future GPUs, signaling a possible partnership. AMD is also evaluating the technology but has not confirmed testing.

Intel’s 18A node, designed to rival TSMC’s N2 process, offers competitive transistor density and performance. Manufactured in Arizona, it could help bypass international tariffs.

However, competition is intensifying as TSMC secures a $100 billion investment for its Arizona plants, announced by President Donald Trump on March 3.

If adopted, Intel’s 18A node could strengthen its AI market position. AI’s deep learning demands powerful GPUs, and industry leaders are racing to integrate AI processing into PCs rather than relying on cloud-based solutions.
