Decentraland has introduced Marketplace Credits, a new reward system designed to boost user engagement and support creators. Starting May 19, users can earn up to eight Credits per week during an eight-week beta program. These Credits can be used to purchase Wearables and Emotes in the platform’s Marketplace, offering a no-cost way for users to customize their avatars.
Each Credit equals one MANA in value and is redeemable only for primary sales of Polygon-based items. To participate, users must activate the feature and complete in-world tasks like logging in and attending events. Credits must be claimed weekly and expire after July 27.
This initiative is part of a $2 million effort by the Decentraland Foundation to enhance the creator economy and promote regular community interaction. The beta’s success could shape future reward models for the platform.
