Astar Foundation has relaunched its popular digital collectible game, Yoki Origins, under the new name Yoki Legacy on Sony’s Soneium blockchain. This move aims to broaden access and scale the game through a more IP-focused web3 infrastructure.
Originally launched on the Astar Network, the game saw over 2.5 million NFTs minted and 59,000 unique wallets. Now on Sony’s Layer 2 network, Yoki Legacy features streamlined gameplay with a simplified Yoki roster and new fusion mechanics. The in-game token has been rebranded from Omamori (OMA) to OMASTR, which can be minted without daily limits using ASTR tokens.
To drive engagement, players can earn Astar Contribution Score (ACS) points and compete for rewards, including a limited Yoki OG Badge for early participants. The relaunch also aligns with broader goals from Astar and Sony to grow web3 gaming and foster creativity on-chain.
