AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT has seen a record-breaking launch, selling 10 times more units than its predecessor, the RX 7000 series. CEO Dr. Lisa Su confirmed the milestone, stating that the GPU quickly became AMD’s top-selling graphics card during its debut week.
Retailers worldwide reported massive demand, with some selling over 5,000 units on launch day alone. To keep up, AMD is ramping up production to ensure more gamers can get their hands on the card.
This marks a major comeback for AMD after the RX 7000 series struggled with weak sales and market share. In early 2024, AMD’s gaming revenue dropped 48% year-over-year due to low demand for Radeon GPUs. Now, with the RX 9070 XT’s success, AMD is looking to regain momentum in the competitive GPU market.
