Axie Infinity’s Classic mode has introduced significant updates for Season 8, including an expanded Tower Mode, a revamped quest system, new Gear utility, and several UI and matchmaking improvements.
Expanded Tower Mode and Quest System
Tower Mode now features ten floors instead of five, with new environmental debuffs to increase difficulty. The quest system offers two modes: Starter Mode for newcomers to earn rewards without owning Axies, and Guardian Mode for experienced players with Axie ownership, offering exclusive rewards like Gold, Dust, and Premium Pass bonuses.
Gear Utility and Gameplay Adjustments
The new Gear utility allows players to customize their Axie teams, with options to equip, upgrade, and craft Gear. Gear won’t be available in Cursed Coliseum matches for fair competition. Players linked to an Axie Classic account will receive a free Level 3 HP Gear. Additionally, the Attack+ Buff mechanic now lasts for a specific number of turns and can be stacked up to five times, with an upgrade to Attack++.
UI and Matchmaking Improvements
The update also brings UI enhancements, such as a restored artifact icon and streamlined team selection in Starter Mode. Matchmaking improvements have reduced queue times, making the overall experience smoother and more enjoyable.
